VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch August 14
14/08/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures posted their biggest gain in more than three weeks on on Thursday, tracking a recovery in the soy market, as buyers were tempted back after by market weakness.
* U.S. wheat futures rose 2 percent on Thursday, recovering after a nearly 3 percent drop a day earlier when bearish data in a monthly U.S. government crop report sent grain markets tumbling.
* U.S. oil prices tumbled more than 3 percent to a 6-1/2-year low under $42 a barrel on Thursday as data showing a big rise in key U.S. stockpiles intensified worries over a growing global glut.
MARKET NEWS
* Bond yields rose in major markets on Thursday after China's central bank reassured investors there was no reason for its currency to keep falling, but oil prices fell to six-year lows on supply concerns.
