Indonesia, Thailand To Enhance Cooperation In Oil
JAKARTA, April 2 Asia Pulse - Agriculture Minister Bungaran Saragih andThai ambassador to Indonesia Atchara Seriputra signed an agreement toenhance development of oil palm and rubber sectors here on Wednesday.
"We have signed a memorandum of understanding with Thailand to intensifyparticularly the development of oil palm and rubber," Bungaran said aftermeeting with ambassador Seriputra.
The minister also said the Thai government wanted Indonesia to assist thedevelopment of oil palm in that country and he had expressed the readinessfor it.
To follow up the meeting, the minister would invite the ambassador tovisit the oil palm research center in Medan, North Sumatera and the rubberresearch center in Palembang, South Sulawesi.
"We also invite Thai businessmen to invest in Indonesia," Bungaran added.
He further said that Indonesia planned to expand its palm oil exports toThailand.
He added that Indonesia still pays more attention to big markets likeIndia, China and Europe.
