SLDB Planning to Venture Into Palm Oil Downstream Industry

03/07/2015 (Borneo Post) - The Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) is planning to venture into palm oil downstream industry with the setting up of its multi-million palm oil mill at Pandewan, Nabawan.

SLDB chairman Datuk Haji Abdul Rahim Ismail said the Pandewan mill, expected to be commissioned this year, has the capacity to process more than 45 metric tons of fresh fruit bunch (FFB) per hour.

Once it is operational, palm oil planters from other companies can also sell FFB to the mill. Rahim said this during the breaking of fast organised by the agency’s Islamic welfare body at SLDB head office here.

He also announced that SLDB is expected to carry out two Federal-funded communal titles at Sumatalun, Nabawan dan Kabintaluan, Tenom, very soon.

Rahim later presented letters of appointment to the new members of SLDB Board of Directors, including Datuk Wetrom Bahanda, who is the agency’s new deputy chairman.

He also gave away SLDB’s contribution to the Anak-Anak Yatim, Ar-Raudhah, Tawau, Madrasah Bahrul Ulum Kg Warisan, Inanam and several settlers’s children who have done well in their SPM examination.
