22/06/2015 (Borneo Post) - Malaysian Oil Scientist and Technologyst Association (Mosta) will be hosting ‘Oil Palm Best Practices Workshop 2015’ from Aug 17-19 at Imperial Hotel here.

Sarawak Oil Palm Berhad public relations executive Annie Kwong said the three-day seminar is open for registration.

“The workshop is to educate the stakeholders on best practices to realise the yield potential of oil palm planting,” she said here yesterday.

Day one and two of the workshop will engage participants in sessions during a seminar-cum-panel discussion.

On day two, participants will also undergo a field workshop as well as ensuing discussions.

“The topics will cover global and local scenarios of the oil pam industry, good agricultural practices (GAP) in new plantings and replanting,” she added.

Moreover, Annie said the workshop topics include a discussion on immature and mature oil palm management, oil palm crop protection, harvesting, mechanization and innovative technologies as well as agronomic practices.

“Participants will be taken to visit the field trials for hands-on interaction and application of the topic(s) discussed,” she added.

Thus, MOSTA invites plantation R&D, advisory personnel, plantation management executives and commercial technical advisory specialists to take the opportunity by participating in the workshop.
