VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch March 17
17/03/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures slid to their lowest in nearly six weeks on Monday, after a decision by the second-largest producer to impose export taxes next month fuelled worries that price-sensitive buyers would switch to rival edible oils.
* U.S. wheat futures rose for the sixth time in seven sessions on Monday on concerns about dry conditions in the U.S. Plains hindering growth as the winter wheat crop emerges from dormancy.
* Oil prices fell 2 percent on Monday, with U.S. crude hitting six-year lows, on signs of higher output in the United States and Libya and a possible nuclear deal that could end sanctions for Iran, allowing more of its oil into the market.
MARKET NEWS
* The U.S. dollar weakened broadly on Monday ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting on worries that the central bank could become more cautious about raising interest rates, while Wall Street stocks rose as the greenback's fall eased worries about its effect on corporate profits.
