Angola Is Seeking Partnership for Production of Fertilisers - Minister
11/03/2015 (AllAfrica.com) - The minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Canga, said Monday in Luanda that Angola is seeking partnership with local and foreign businesspeople to produce fertilisers in the country.
Afonso Canga was speaking at the Angola/Japan Business Forum that opened on Monday in Luanda.
According to the official, the partnership Angola is seeking includes the transfer of agricultural technologies, production and processing of seeds for rice, animal vaccines and medicines.
Other priorities for the Government's intended partnership are the implementation and management of food production projects, development of chains for production of cereals, vegetables, palm oil, cotton and livestock.
He added Angola is also seeking partners who can provide technical assistance and maintenance of farming equipment like tractors, ploughs and irrigations systems.
In addition to the above mentioned, the minister pointed out the need for training of Angolan staff, reforestation and revamping of the cellulose industry, including the supply of soil and foodstuffs laboratory equipment.
