Malaysia's End-January Palm Oil Stocks, Output Down on Floods

10/02/2015 (NASDAQ) - Malaysia's crude palm oil output fell in January due to floods, and its stockpiles of the commodity hit a six-month low at the end of January.

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board said Tuesday Malaysia's January crude palm oil production fell 15.0% from a month earlier to 1.16 million metric tons.

End-January stockpiles fell 12.2% from a month earlier to 1.77 million tons, and palm oil exports were down 22.1% from December at 1.18 million tons.

Malaysia, the world's second-largest palm oil producer, is facing widespread flooding due to a severe monsoon in December and January.
