Vegoils: Market Factors to Watch on Tuesday Jan 20
20/01/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday Jan 20.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures ended lower in choppy trade on Monday, reversing gains made in the morning session on concerns that a gloomy global economic
outlook will weaken prices.
* U.S. corn rose 1.8 percent on Friday for its biggest daily gain in about two weeks, rebounding from a nearly two-month low on support from short covering and
increasing export demand.
* Brent crude oil prices fell below $49 a barrel and U.S. crude also fell more
than $1 on Monday after the global economic outlook darkened and Iraq announced
record oil production.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian markets were on edge on Tuesday ahead of data expected to show China's
economy grew at the slowest pace in 24 years last quarter, adding to the case
for more stimulus measures both at home and abroad.
