VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Oct 16
16/10/2014 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures slipped to a more than three-week low on Wednesday, giving up gains made in the previous session as crude and soy oil prices slumped, and as export demand remained lacklustre in the first half of October.
* Chicago Board of Trade corn futures fell on Wednesday as traders booked profits following a two-day surge, driven by U.S. harvest delays, that lifted the market to a six-week high, brokers said.
* Oil prices slumped on Wednesday after a brief bounce from four-year lows failed to gain traction, as equity markets tumbled and economic gloom spread.
MARKET NEWS
* A sharp slide in Japanese stocks led Asian equities down on Thursday, as a maelstrom of concern about global growth drove U.S. Treasury yields lower and weighed on the dollar.
