Oilpalmworld To Diversify To Other Commodities - I
LANGKAWI, July 29 (Bernama) -- Oilpalmworld Sdn Bhd, a company involved inglobal palm oil trading, intends to diversify its services into othercommodities, should there be enough interest from traders.
Its Business Development Manager Imran Abdul Shukor hoped the companywould be approached by both local and foreign delegates participating inthe showcases being held in conjunction with the Global 2004 LangkawiInternational Dialogue (LID).
"If there is enough interest, we will expand our services and expertise tocater for other commodities," he told Bernama.
Bringing together buyers, sellers, plantation owners and governmentresearchers, Oilpalmworld provides an electronic commerce platform for itsusers to carry out day-to-day business transactions round-the-clock.
Oilpalmworld also provides resources like news related to the palm oilindustry, besides operating on a joint venture platform for players, hesaid.
Imran said a meeting would held with the Nigerian High Commissioner toMalaysia Friday to provide services on palm oil trading.
"We are also expecting more opportunities to expand our services to othercommodities as more delegates arrive for LID," he said.
He said Ghana was another country Oilpalmworld had an agreement with toprovide a trade exchange service for its palm oil industry.
"They also have cocoa, another opportunity for us to generate enoughinterest to expand to other commodities," he said.
Oilpalmworld has 400 clients from over 60 countries since it started inNovember last year, with its website www.oilpalmworld.com experiencing anaverage of 4,780 hits daily.
