Deficient Monsoon Heats up Indigenous Oils

27/06/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - The sentiment in the edible oils market turned weak tracking lower closing of Malaysian palm oil and domestic soya oil futures amidst slack physical demand. However, delay and deficit in monsoon pushed up indigenous oils such as groundnut, cotton and rapeseed oil by ₹10, ₹1 and ₹5 for 10 kg each. During the day, resellers offloaded merely 80-100 tonnes of palmolein at ₹580-582. Liberty quoted palmolein at ₹587and super palmolein ₹604 for July 20, soyabean refined oil ₹668. Ruchi was quoting palmolein at ₹583, soyabean refined oil ₹662 for July, sunflower refined oil ₹657 for July. Allana’s palmolein rates were ₹586 and soyabean refined oil ₹662 for July and sunflower refined oil ₹657 . In Saurashtra, groundnut oil Telia tin jumped further by ₹35 to ₹1,170 and loose (10 kg) increased by ₹30 to ₹750.
