12/04/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - The edible oils market rebounded on Friday with prices in the futures rising late in the evening. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, a mixed trend prevailed with palmolein losing ₹2 and rapeseed oil gaining ₹1 for 10 kg each. Other edible oils were steady due to higher selling pressure.

Hardly 700-750 tonnes of palmolein were sold by Ruchi and Liberty together at ₹598-600. Stockists covered about 100 tonnes of sunflower refined oil at ₹665 from Ruchi. Resellers were offering palmolein at ₹596-597.

Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹625/10 kg for Malaysia super palmolein. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹600, super palmolein ₹625 and soyabean refined oil ₹652. Ruchi quoted palmolein at ₹600 for April-May, soyabean refined oil ₹652 for May and sunflower refined oil ₹670 for April. Allana was quoting palmolein for ₹604 for April and ₹601 for May, soyabean refined oil ₹655 for May and sunflower refined oil ₹672 for April. Kamani was offering super palmolein at ₹640. At Rajkot, groundnut oil telia tin was ₹1,110 (1,110) and loose (10 kg) at ₹700 (690). Malaysia BMD crude palm oil’s futures April contracts settled higher at MYR 2,660 (MYR 2,655), May MYR 2,641 (MYR 2,627) and June MYR 2,615 (MYR 2,609).

Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (₹/10 kg) : groundnut oil 730 (730), soya refined oil 652 (652), sunflower exp. ref. 605 (605), sunflower ref. 670 (670), rapeseed ref. oil 673 (672), rapeseed expeller ref. 643 (642) cottonseed ref. oil 655 (655) and palmolein 600 (602).
