Palmolein Drops to ₹600/10 KG

11/04/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - Bearish trend continued in edible oils market on Thursday tracking weak Malaysian palm oil futures amid slack physical demand. Activities remained thin in resale as stockists stayed away. On Bombay Commodity Exchange, groundnut oil dropped by ₹20 while soyabean refined, cotton refined, rapeseed refined oil and palmolein declined by ₹3 for 10 kg each. Palmolein dropped to ₹600 level on higher reselling pressure.

  Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹625/10 kg for Malaysia super palmolein April delivery. Liberty was quoting palmolein ₹605, super palmolein ₹625 and soyabean refined oil ₹652. Ruchi quoted palmolein at ₹607 for April and ₹603 for May, soyabean refined oil ₹652 for May 20 and sunflower refined oil ₹673 for April 14-30. Allana was quoting palmolein for ₹604 for April and ₹602 for May, soyabean refined oil ₹655 for May 15 -31 and sunflower refined oil ₹675 for April 20. Kamani was offering super palmolein at ₹640. 

 At Rajkot, groundnut oil telia tin declined by ₹10 to ₹1,120 and loose (10 kg) dropped by ₹15 to ₹690.Malaysia BMD crude palm oil’s futures April contracts settled higher at MYR 2,655 (MYR 2,650), May MYR 2,627 (MYR 2,631) and June MYR 2,609 (MYR 2,613).

 Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 730 (750), soya refined oil 652 (655), sunflower exp. ref. 605 (605), sunflower ref. 670 (670), rapeseed ref. oil 672 (675), rapeseed expeller ref. 642 (645) cottonseed ref. oil 655 (658) and palmolein 602 (604).
