Despite Slack Buying, Edible Oils Rule Steady

05/04/2014 (Business Recoder) - Palmolein rose by ₹1 while cotton refined oil dropped by ₹2 for 10 kg each. Other edible oils ruled steady on slack demand amid volatile futures. The volume in spot market remained thin. Higher arrivals of indigenous oilseeds at producing centres kept groundnut, sunflower, soyabean, rapeseed oil calm.

Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹640/10 kg for Malaysia super palmolein April delivery.

Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹620, super palmolein ₹645 and soyabean refined oil ₹665. Ruchi quoted palmolein at ₹620, soyabean refined oil ₹665 and sunflower refined oil ₹690. Allana was quoting palmolein ₹620, soyabean refined oil ₹665 and sunflower refined oil ₹700. Kamani was quoting palmolein at ₹625, super palmolein ₹645, super deluxe palmolein ₹675 and sunflower ₹700.

At Rajkot, groundnut oil telia tin was steady at ₹1,160 and loose (10 kg) at ₹740.

Malaysia BMD crude palm oil April contracts settled higher at MYR 2,705 (MYR 2,675), May at MYR 2,678 (MYR 2,648) and June at MYR 2,658 (MYR 2,634).

Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (₹/10 kg) were: groundnut oil 770 (770), soya refined oil 665 (665), sunflower exp. ref. 610 (610), sunflower ref. 690 (685), rapeseed ref. oil 693 (693), rapeseed expeller ref. 663 (663) cottonseed ref. oil 668 (670) and palmolein 616 (615).
