10/03/2014 (Business Recorder) - A cargo volume of 65,139 tonnes comprising 32,935 tonnes of import cargo and 32,204 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,099 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 32,935 tonnes includes 8,935 tonnes of palm oil and 24,010 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 32,204 tonnes includes 7,110 tonnes of cement and 25,094 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were two ships namely CV CMA CGM Mozart and MT Nassau Energy with containers and edible oil sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours. A total number of seven vessels viz CV MSC Didem, CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV JPO Libra, MV SFL Yukon, MV Rio Blanco, MT Bunga Azalea and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey were currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, edible oil and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as one ship namely Beech-4 with furnace oil is currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There were four vessels with containers and palm oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There were three ships namely CV MSC Levina, MT Beech-4 and MT Atlantic Glory with containers, furnace oil and palm oil due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
