30/09/2013 (Business Recorder) - A cargo volume of 69,742 tonnes comprising 58,687 tonnes of import cargo and 11,055 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,209 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 58,687 tonnes includes 4,719 tonnes of fertiliser; 26,012 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,000 tonnes of palm oil; 3,011 tonnes of chemicals and 12,945 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 11,055 tonnes includes 1,877 tonnes of cement and 9,178 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely CV MSC Didem with containers sailed out to sea on Saturday morning.

A total number of ten vessels viz CV MSC Didem, MT Gulf Oasis, MV Al-Ammanis, MT Atlantic Glory, MT Omera Queen, MT Chem Pegasus, MV Tamil Nadu, MV Capital, MT Bunga Akasia and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, furnace oil, palm oil, fertiliser, chemical, cement and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as four ships namely MSC Levina, South, Lady Amna and King Fortune with containers, wheat, fertiliser and project cargo are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were four vessels viz MT Ocean Coral with containers, palm oil, chemical and cement took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday. There are two ships namely CV MSC Levina and MV King Fortune with containers and project cargo due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
