Malaysian CPO Production For August Up 3.61 Per Cent To 1.73 Million Tonnes

11/09/2013 (Bernama) - Malaysia's crude palm oil (CPO) production in August increased by 3.61 per cent to 1.735 million tonnes from 1.674 million tonnes in July, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

In a statement Tuesday, MPOB said crude palm kernel oil output in August rose by 0.29 per cent to 179,838 tonnes from 179,315 tonnes in July.

MPOB said August CPO stock increased by 14.16 per cent to 997,588 tonnes from 873,852 tonnes in July.

Processed palm oil in August, however, fell by 15.44 per cent to 668,004 tonnes from 789,936 tonnes in July.

August crude palm kernel oil stock declined by 6.32 per cent to 135,466 tonnes from 144,605 tonnes in July.

The board said August palm oil export rose by 7.37 per cent to 1.523 million tonnes from 1.418 million tonnes in July.

Palm kernel oil export in August fell 15.89 per cent to 87,635 tonnes from 104,189 tonnes in July.

Imports of CPO in August decreased by 14.73 per cent to 6,950 tonnes from 8,151 tonnes in July.

Imports of processed palm oil in August fell 98.61 per cent to 583 tonnes from 42,021 tonnes previously.
