19/07/2013 (AllAfrica.com) - The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Wednesday said that 80 ships, carrying various commodities, would sail into the Lagos ports from July 17 to Aug. 24.

NPA indicated this in its daily publication, "Shipping Position", made available to newsmen in Lagos.

It said the ships were carrying bulk corn, petroleum products, bulk fertiliser, new and used vehicles, soda ash and frozen fish.

The document also indicated that some of the ships would be coming with steel products, bulk malt, bulk salt, bulk sugar, general cargo, bulk wheat, containers and crude palm-oil.

The NPA said that two ships were waiting to discharge used vehicles and bulk fertilizer.

It said that 10 fuel-laden ships were also waiting to berth and discharge petrol and aviation fuel.

The NPA said that the ships would berth at Single Buoy Mooring (SBM), New Oil Jetty and Atlas Cove Jetty.
