Malaysia Sets 4.5 Per Cent CPO Export Tax For April
15/03/2013 (Bernama) - Malaysia is to impose a 4.5 per cent export tax on crude palm oil (CPO) for April, unchanged from March, according to a circular from the Malaysian Royal Customs Department posted on the Malaysian Palm Oil Board website today.
Malaysia, the world's second largest palm oil producer after Indonesia, had set 4.5 per cent export tax after CPO prices were traded above RM2,250 a tonne.
The circular said the RM2,383.84 per tonne reference price for April effectively kept the rate unchanged for CPO.
The tax rate will remain in force from April 1 to 30.
