ALL FOR NOGEH: Majen (right) with SPDP Tasik Biru Division chairman Micheal Siten.

18/02/2013 (Borneo Post) - A participant of Salcra oil palm development scheme here,  Majen Minos,  said Anthony Nogeh Gumbek, the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP)-nominated candidate for Mas Gading in the coming general election, could help the government to bring more development into the industry if he were a member of parliament .

This was because Nogeh, who is a Salcra deputy general manager, had vast experience in plantation development either through big schemes or smallholding, he explained when met at Tasik Biru here during SPDP launch of 1Malaysia Licence Aid (or BL1M) on Saturday.

Majen also called on villagers with land not to hesitate to participate in Salcra oil palm schemes as they should not leave their land idle.

“There is nothing to fear. Though the price of palm oil fluctuates the crop is saleable anytime.

“There are three oil plam mills in Bau and Lundu region (or Mas Gading constituency). Oil palm is still the country’s number one cash crop,” he said.

Majen said he was in the business for almost ten years.

His hard work and patience as a Salcra participant paid off by the fifth year because by then, Salcra started to pay yearly dividends and he personally earn an average monthly income of  about RM9,000.

Nogeh is tipped to replace  Mas Gading incumbent Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe as BN candidate after SPDP recommended him (Nogeh) for BN’s consideration.
