28/11/04 PALEMBANG, South Sumatra - A Japanese lawmaker and twobusinessmen met with Palembang government officials on Sunday night, inhopes of exploring investment opportunities in the city.

The lawmaker in question was a senator from Fujimi City, IshikawaShinichiro, and the two businessmen were Shinbori Naoki and SuzukiYusihiro.

Responding to a statement by his guests, Palembang Mayor Eddy SantanaPutra told them that some of the investment opportunities in the cityincluded the hotel and restaurant sector, palm oil and rubber plantationsas well as coal mining. -- JP
