08/01/2013 (The Star) - The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) is suing Persatuan Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan (Anak) president Mazlan Aliman and six others for libel over the alleged sale of palm oil to Israel.

Felda said Mazlan had posted a picture of an invoice in his Facebook account on Nov 19 last year which implied that it had sold crude palm oil to Israel.

It said Mazlan had made a defamatory statement in front of its office on Nov 23 last year, which was published in Harakah dated Nov 26-29 and Suara Keadilan dated Nov 27.

It has named Mazlan, PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali, Harakah chief editor Ahmad Lutfi Othman, editor Taufek Yahya, writer Mohd Arif Atan, printer Angkatan Edaran Ent Sdn Bhd and PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail as defendants in the civil suit.

Felda filed the lawsuit at the High Court civil registry yesterday.

Speaking to reporters here, Felda lawyer Wan Azmir Wan Majid said that they would try to serve a copy of the lawsuit to each defendant by hand by the end of the week.

In the statement of claim, Felda said it had sought an apology and a written statement not to publish any libellous articles against it but Mazlan had continued to defame the company.

It further said that Saifuddin did not give Felda time and opportunity to comment on the allegations before publishing the defamatory articles.

Mustafa and Saifuddin said that they would discuss the next course of action with their lawyers.

Mazlan could not be reached for comment.
