TH Group gets Unilever project in Ghana

Dec 21 4:14 AM - TH Group Bhd said its MSC-status subsidiary iTechWorldwide Sdn Bhd has secured a project initially worth RM380,000 fromUnilever Ghana for the supply and implementation of eFLEX solution, asuite of management software for plantations and palm oil mills.

ITech had also obtained a letter of understanding to supply an estimatedRM2 million worth of the homegrown eFLEX software and services to theBritish giant’s plantation operations in other African countries, it saidin a statement on Dec 21.

"We are excited at the prospects of working with a large multi-nationalgroup such as Unilever who has acknowledged the quality of our homegrownsoftware," said TH Group managing director Lei Lin Thai.

"The software can be tailored to our customers’ needs, and this translatesinto ease of deployment by any plantation in any country. We have theadvantage in the domain knowledge of the plantation industry sinceplantation is one of TH Group’s core activities," he said.

Lei said TH Group would continue to focus on Malaysia and Indonesia in2005 although its marketing efforts would be expanded to Thailand andVietnam.

"Our approach is to focus on promoting the various benefits of the eFLEXsolution which include cost-efficiency and improved analysis of plantationoperations for supervision and control. The system also allowsadministration staff workload to be reduced from manual operations," hesaid.

He said iTech Worldwide would also be implementing eFLEX solutions forsubsidiaries of Kulim Bhd and WTK Holdings Bhd and Indonesian company PTDuta Palma.
