09/10/2012 (Tempo Interactive) - Jakarta:Recently listed crude palm oil (CPO) producer Provident Agro has set a target of CPO production at 72,000 tons. The target was not revised although environmental issues regarding the commodity have been a source of criticism in Europe and America.

Objections to CPO over environmental concerns need to be handled prudently, said Provident Agro finance director Devin. If Europe and the US refuse to accept Indonesian products other markets are still open, he added.

“It is targeted that Indonesian CPO will be consumed by the country itself and China and India,” said Devin, met after conducting his company’s IPO at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) on Monday, October 8.
