Malaysia Exports Palm Oil-based Medicine Worth RM600 Million Last Year
10/08/2012 (Bernama) - Palm oil-based medicinal products worth about RM600 million were exported by Malaysia last year, Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said.
He said Malaysia's export of the products was expected to increase by another eight per cent this year because of the increasing demand due to the quality of the products.
"Malaysia produces medicinal products, like pain killers, vitamin C, anti-oxidant.
"The government encourages the use of natural resources in medicinal products because it indirectly helps to push up the price of the commodity, hence, the country's revenue," he told reporters at Felda Cemomoi near here Thursday.
Liow told this to reporters after he and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob presented a "windfall" and Aidilfitri gift to Felda settlers in the Bentong parliamentary constituency.
