18/06/2012 (The Star) -  Malaysian traders can expect a huge boost at the upcoming 9th China-Asean expo set to be held in Nanning.

Having hosted the Caexpo annually for the past eight years, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been the centrepoint of bilateral relations between Malaysia and China in recent years.

Caexpo secretariat secretary-general Zheng Junjian said this year's expo would showcase Malaysia's home-grown products prominently, with pavilions catering specifically to Malaysian rubber and palm oil.

“There will also be a special pavilion for coffee. Malaysian coffee is huge in China,” he said at the Caexpo soft launch and the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (QIP) promotion function here yesterday.

With the recently inked Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park agreement, which will see China's industrial park in Qinzhou, Guangxi, gaining a sister, commerce department director Liu Shusen said Kuantan was an ideal choice for Chinese investors.

Two Malaysian conglomerates, Rimbunan Hijau and SP Setia, have formed a joint venture to be the leading investor in QIP.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's special envoy to China and former MCA president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting said that the series of positive developments were the first fruits of the sincerity and mutual trust that had been built over a long period between the two governments.
