Palm Oil Production And Exports Up In May, Stocks Ease
12/06/2012 (Bernama) - Malaysia's palm oil production rose 8.73 per cent to 1.383 million tonnes in May this year from 1.272 million tonnes in April this year.
The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), in releasing the figures today said palm kernel production was up 5.84 per cent at 343,330 tonnes, while crude palm kernel oil output was 15.61 per cent higher at 161,092 tonnes and palm kernel cake production 15.66 per cent better at 178,824 tonnes.
Palm oil stocks meanwhile fell 4.46 per cent to 1.764 million tonnes for the month from 1.847 million tonnes the previous month.
Crude palm oil (CPO) stocks decreased 2.45 per cent to 965,109 tonnes in May while processed palm oil stocks dropped 6.78 per cent to 799,679 million tonnes.
Palm kernel stocks declined 4.68 per cent to 114,456 tonnes but crude palm kernel oil stocks added 14.99 per cent to 187,057 tonnes.
