Plantations Among Top Losers in Late Morning

28/05/2012 (The Star) -  Plantations were among the major losers in thin trade on Monday despite the firmer crude palm oil (CPO) futures, with the FBM KLCI remaining in the red, in line with regional markets.

At 10.44am, the FBM KLCI was down 3.75 points to 1,547.37. Turnover was 219.71 million shares valued at RM152.29mil. Gainers led losers 209 to 187 while 238 stocks were unchanged.

CPO for third month delivery was up 0.8% to RM3,154 per tonne.

Among the decliners were PPB, down 20 sen to RM15.60, Batu Kawan 16 sen to RM17.72, Tradewinds Plantations 15 sen to RM4.90 and Sawarak Oil Palms nine sen to RM6.01.

KL Kepong lost eight sen to Rm21.94 and Kretam seven sen to RM2.10.
