14/05/2012 (News Strait Times) - Malaysians generally are aware of the benefits of palm oil. They would have seen documentaries on television on how the fruit is processed, the oil extracted and its health benefits.

To encourage Malaysians to buy the oil, the price needs to be reduced. Palm oil products must be placed strategically on shelves in supermarket/hypermarkets so that they attract people's attention.

There should also be promotions to get people to buy the products.

There should be more advertisements on palm oil in the electronic and print media. Greater efforts must also be made to counter negative claims hurled at the product by sales people who promote their own brand at supermarkets. Word of mouth, however, remains the best. All these will help get people to use palm oil in their daily lives.
