Activity At Karachi and Qasim Ports

07/05/2012 (Business Recorder) - The Karachi Port activity was not received on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 65,562 tonnes, comprising 38,866 tonnes of import cargo and 26,696 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,056 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday.

The total import cargo of 38,866 tonnes includes 2,711 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,680 tonnes of palm oil; 12,259 tonnes of coal; 5,539 tonnes of chemicals and 12,677 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 26,696 tonnes includes 4,755 tonnes of cement and 21,941 tonnes of containerised cargo.

Two ships namely CV CMA CGM Amber and MT Never Land carrying containers and furnace oil respectively sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three ships namely CV MSC Sierra-II, MT Bunga Lavender and MV Asian Trader are expected to sail on Saturday morning.

A total number of eight vessels viz CV CMA CGM Amber, CV MSC Sierra-II, MV Catamarca, MV Asian Trader, MT Bunga Lavender, MV Endless, MT Never Land and MT Argent Hibiscus with containers, cement, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and coal respectively during last 24 hours.

As many as two ships namely Indian Fortune and STX Eastern with wheat and palm oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.

A palm oil tanker namely MT STX Eastern expected to take berth at Liquid Cargo Terminal on Saturday.
