JAKARTA, Feb 21 Asia Pulse - Malaysia's Federal Land DevelopmentAuthority (Felda) wants to build a new oil palm plantation in EastKalimantan .

East Kalimantan Governor Yurnalis Ngayoh a Felda executive Tan Sri DatoMohammad Yusuf Noor has visited East Kalimantan to discuss the plan.

Ngayoh said East Kalimantan has 2.5 million hectares of land suitable foroil palm plantations not yet cultivated.

In 1999, that provinces launched a program to build 1 million hectares ofoil plantations but until now only 300,000 hectares of the land have beencultivated.

Ngayoh said if Felda brings to reality its plan, East Kalimantan hopes toreach the 1 million hectare target.
