March Palm Oil Stocks Drop, Output And Export Increases

11/04/2012 (Bernama) - Palm oil stocks dropped 4.99 per cent in March to 1.959 million tonnes against 2.062 million tonnes registered in February, says the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

Crude palm oil (CPO) stocks accounted for 981,618 tonnes during the month in review while processed palm oil accounted for the remaining 977,622 tonnes.

Production rose 2.13 per cent to 1.211 million tonnes against 1.185 million tonnes recorded in February, the board said in a statement.

Production of palm kernel rose 1.87 per cent to 313,932 tonnes from 308,165 tonnes recorded in February while that of crude palm kernel oil output decreased 1.36 per cent to 152,038 tonnes from 154,129 tonnes registered a month earlier.

Meanwhile, palm oil exports in March was 10.84 per cent better at 1.342 million tonnes against 1.211 million tonnes recorded in the preceding month.
