Activity At Karachi And Qasim Ports
09/04/2012 (Business Recorder) - Business Recorder did not receive the daily cargo handling operation report from Karachi Port Trust (KPT) on Saturday.
PORT QASIM
Port Qasim maintained port's activities of total cargo volume of 46,608 tonnes including 46,608 tonnes of import cargos are handled; while there is no export cargo was handled during the last 24 hours of the business activity on Saturday.
The total import cargo volume of 46,608 tonnes comprised of 931 tonnes of chemicals, 44,177 tonnes of furnace oil and 1,500 tonnes of palm oil are handled during the business activity hours of the port on Saturday.
There is no cargo handling activity was reported from the port during the period of business activities on Saturday.
There are three cargo vessels namely C V Analips Lady, M T Bunga Alpinia and M V ETA Gas carrying furnace oil tankers, palm oil tankers and chemical cargo respectively are sailed out to the sea on Saturday morning from Fotco oil and Liquid terminal, Liquid Container terminal and Engro Vopak Terminals respectively.
A total number of three cargo vessels namely M T bunga Alpinia, M T Karachi and M T ETA Gas are currently occupying the berths to load/offload palm oil tankers, furnace oil tankers and chemical cargo containers respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Saturday.
There is only one cargo vessel namely C T Bhai Ravi carrying chemical cargo containers is currently to line up at the outer anchorage to sail out to the sea at Engro Vopak Terminals at Port Qasim on Friday.
There is only one cargo vessel namely M T Bhai Ravi carrying chemical cargo container is expected to arrive at Engro Vopak Terminal during the business activity hours on Saturday.
