17/03/2012 (The Nigerian Observer) - As part of its Agricultural Transformation Plan, the Federal Government is promoting the production of cocoa, oil palm, rice, cassava, fisheries and livestock.

In view of this, the Edo State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in conjunction with various commodity association is undertaking the registration of farmers of the aforementioned commodities.

To this end, the ministry has fixed March 26, 2012 for the registration of rice farmers at the Engineering Hall of the ministry while the registration of oil palm and cassava farmers comes up on March 27 and 28, 2012 respectively.

A statement by the ministry enjoined the affected farmers to come with eight passport photographs for the exercise.
