14/02/2012 (BusinessDay) - In line with its policy to boost agricultural production especially in the oil palm production, Edo State Government has concluded plans to commence registration of oil palm growers in the state.

BusinessDay reports that the registration exercise was also to key into the federal government oil palm transformation agenda.

The registration exercise was geared towards repositioning the agricultural sub sector as well as to reclaiming its lost glory among oil palm producing states.

It was gathered that as part of efforts to reposition the sector, the state government allocated the sum of N752. 144.045 million in its 2012 budget to the ministry of agriculture.
