30/01/2012 (Daily Express) - The BN government is doing all it can to ensure that that land owners without titles will get theirs, including those delayed by overlapping applications.

This was stated by Plantation Industry and Commodities Minister, Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Friday.

"I have discussed this problem with the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman. It seems that he knows this problem well. So let us support him so that he can solve not only this problem but also his economic plans for Sabah," he added.

Dompok who is Upko President was speaking to reporters after officiating an Economic Development Programme for Pasokmomogun Youth based on Rubber and Oil Palm Planting at Taginambur near here.

"Do not wait for the Land Titles to be released before working on the land applied for. Prove that the land applied for will not become idle land once approved.

"The Government is only too willing to help those who are genuinely interested in developing their land," he stressed.

Earlier, President of the Sabah Pasokmomogun Youth Organisation, Ewon Benidek, in his welcoming speech said many youths, including graduates, would not mind making agriculture their career but they faced the problem of not having titles.

Dompok praised members of the organisation for their initiatives and expresssed the hope that they would work hard to fulfill the Organisation's eleven objectives.

One of the objectives which attracted Dompok's attention was: "To serve as a platform for Pasokmomogun youths to contribute significantly towards national development efforts through a Bangsa Malaysia as stipulated in Vision 2020."

At the function Dompok witnessed the handing over of a RM100,000 cheque to Ewon from the CEO of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Tan Sri Dr Yusof Basiron. The money is for the Organisation's member to carry out economic activities through rubber and oil palm planting.

Dompok later hand over some Land Titles to residents of Kampung Gensurai, some 27km from Kota Belud.
