Sabah to Benefit From Bank’s Services
19/01/2012 (Borneo Post) - Agrobank will definitely benefit Sabah since the state has huge potentials in agriculture.
Its chief executive officer (CEO) Wan Othman Wan Mohd Fadzmi said the fertile soil in Sabah was suitable for oil palm, paddy and even vegetables.
“Agrobank is offering special services to the agricultural sector not only on downstream but also on the upstream sector in order to help the industry to be transformed from a household income to an industry.
“The transformation will contribute to the good of the economy in Sabah,” he said during the Agrobank Sabah Business Centre annual dinner at Pacific Sutera Harbour, recently.
He also appreciated the efforts made by the federal and state governments to develop agriculture in Sabah as Agrobank would be focusing on financial services to assist industry players.
Wan Othman added that Agrobank would work closely with the agricultural industry in Sabah to ensure that the industry would have proper financial assistance.
During the event that was attended by 200 staff members, Agrobank handed over tithe of RM59, 552.00 to the state Zakat centre.
The money was received by Sabah Islamic Council (MUIS) deputy chairman, Aspal Abdullah Sani.
Also present were MUIS assistant secretary Mohd Zarat Khan Abdul Rahman and Agrobank state manager Che Azmi Che Leh.
