Palm oil giant Sime Darby to build refinery in central Malaysia

17/07/2008 (Trading Markets.com), Kuala Lumpur - SIME DARBY BERHAD on Tuesday said it will build a new RM330 million (US$103.1 million) refinery in a bid to strengthen its position in the palm oil downstream business in South East Asia. Sime Darby's board of directors recently agreed to construct the North Port refinery complex in Port Klang, which is expected to be completed by mid 2010, president and group chief executive Dato' Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid said in a statement.

Orang utans survive in forests within estates

Oilseed prices firm up as fears of output fall loom large

16/07/2008 (Times Economic Times), Mumbai - Prices of vegetable oilseeds — soyabean, mustard seed and castor seed — are moving up, tracking firm global trends and on fears of low oilseed acreage in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. Soyabean moved up Rs 12 per quintal to Rs 2,754 in Indore spot market, mustard seed moved up Rs 30 a quintal to Rs 3,295 at Jaipur mandi and castor seed moved up to Rs 625 per 20 kg from Rs 612 the previous day in Gujarat mandi.
