Palm Oil Seedlings Sought in Three Countries

22/12/2008 (TEMPO Interactive), Jakarta - The Forum for Seeds Producers Cooperation is preparing a plasma program to seek superior palm oil seeds in Angola, Nigeria and Brazil. "The previous program in Cameroon was successful. The program is scheduled to be continued in the three countries," said Forum chairman Dwi Asmono following a meeting at the Agriculture Department last Friday.

Edible oils free flow despite duty correction

17/12/2008 (The Economic Times), Bangalore - India has reported imports of 3.31 lakhtonnes of refined edible oils during the first two months of the ongoing oil year (the oil year runs from November to October). “The imports of such huge quantities of refined edible oils comes as a surprise as the Union government has slashed the import duty on crude edible oils, notably crude palm oil to zero while crude soya oil still attracts a 7.5% duty,” trade sources told ET.
