ABS Alternative Made of CO2, Palm Oil & Starch
11/08/2012 (Design News) - A team headed by Siemens researchers have developed a substitute material for ABS by making a polymer from starch, palm oil, and carbon dioxide. The new material, a mixture containing poly-hydroxybutyrate (PHB), has similar properties.

11/08/2012 (Phys.Org) - University Teknologi MARA researchers studied carotene and antibacterial effects of microwave heated and conventional heated red palm oil (RPO). They discovered that conventional heating reduced its carotene levels but microwave heating retained a higher carotene content.

Palm Oil Springs Back
11/08/2012 (Business Recorder) - Malaysian crude palm oil futures ended off an 8-week low on Friday, and posted a fifth straight weekly loss with traders positioning ahead of a key report by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) later in the day. Palm oil initially went to its lowest since June 15 after cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services reported a 1.8 percent fall in exports for the first ten days of August from a month ago.
