Stockists Keep Off Purchasing Edible Oils
18/09/2012 (Hindu Business Line) - Edible oils prices ruled weak on Monday due to lack of demand and bearish futures market. Imported palmolein dropped by Rs 4 and soyabean refined oil declined by Rs 5 for 10 kg. Cotton refined oil lost Rs 5, tracking bearish reports from producing centres. Groundnut oil, which made a further loss of Rs 20 in Saurashtra, ruled steady in local market. Rapeseed and sunflower oils were unchanged.

Activity at Karachi and Qasim Ports
18/09/2012 (Business Recorder) - The Karachi Port handled 135,475 tonnes of cargo comprising 105,685 tonnes of import cargo and 29,790 tonnes of export cargo including 4,533 loaded & empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 105,685 tonnes comprised 39,996 tonnes of containerised cargo; 31,265 tonnes of bulk cargo: 22,500 tonnes of coal; 2,995 tonnes of DAP; 5,770 tonnes of rock phosphate and 34,424 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

‘Many Products in Pipeline For Future Trading’
18/09/2012 (Daily Times) - The Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Monday announced that a number of products are in the pipeline for futures trading on international commodities in gold, silver, crude oil, palm olien and futures on domestic commodities would be available in rice IRRI-6, sugar, wheat and in financial futures to include Karachi Inter-Bank Offered Rate (KIBOR) futures.
