22/05/2013 (Business Recorder) - The Karachi Port handled 289,458 tonnes of cargo comprising 239,781 tonnes of import cargo and 49,677 tonnes of export cargo including 7,878 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 239,781 tonnes comprised 89,922 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18,594 tonnes of general cargo; 28,905 tonnes of bulk cargo: 26,909 tonnes of coal; 1,996 tonnes of sulphur and 102,360 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
