Activity At Karachi And Qasim Ports

12/06/2013 (Business Recorder) - The Karachi Port handled 58,008 tonnes of cargo comprising 6,212 tonnes of import cargo and 51,796 tonnes of export cargo including 1,085 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 6,212 tonnes comprised 2,529 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10 tonnes of general cargo and 3,673 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

PREVIEW-India\'s Refined Palm Oil Imports Seen At Record in May

12/06/2013 (Reuters) - India's refined palm oil imports may have hit a record in May by jumping 31.5 percent from April, a Reuters survey showed, pushing total purchases of the tropical oil up for the first time since January on lower prices and tight domestic supplies.

Exports Reached To $ 818 Million In Ten Months

12/06/2013 (Associated Press of Pakistan) - In absolute term the overall exports posted an increase of $ 818 million in the first ten months of the current fiscal yer over the same period last year.The Economic Survey of Pakistan 2012-13 released here Tuesday said that of this increase, 76 percent or US$ 621.8 million was contributed by textile manufactures while all other items increased by 24 percent or $196.2 million.This increase of $ 818 million was slashed due to a decline in exports of rice ($ 128.6 million).
