Edible Oils Rule Flat on Slack Buying

08/05/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - Edible oils market ruled steady on Wednesday following slack demand amid range-bound volatility in Malaysian palm oil futures. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange (BCE), soya oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil and palmolein ruled unchanged. Groundnut oil and cotton refined oil declined by ₹10 and ₹5 for 10 kg each.

07/05/2014 (Indonesia Investments) - Indonesian companies engaged in the production of crude palm oil (CPO) recorded impressive financial figures in the first quarter of 2014. Combined, 13 CPO companies that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange posted IDR 3 trillion (USD $260.9 million) in net profits over the first quarter of 2014, a 116.1 percentage growth from the same period last year. Main reasons for this growth are the sharply depreciated Indonesian rupiah exchange rate in combination with the rising global CPO price and looming new El Niño cycle.
