KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia is positive on the recently-inked cooperation deals with China which are expected to boost Malaysia's commodity exports to the world second largest economy, a minister said.

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 27): Malaysian palm oil futures slipped to a more than one-week low on Monday evening, tracking weakness in related edible oils and as the ringgit strengthened.

Malaysian palm oil futures ended lower on Monday, tracking weakness in other markets. Lower exports and higher production expectation weighed on prices.

KUALA LUMPUR: Plantation companies listed on the local bourse turned in weaker corporate earnings in the three months ended June 30, 2018, but analysts are positive about seeing improvements in the remaining months of the year.

China’s soybean and soymeal futures fell in early trade on Monday, hit by concerns that outbreaks of African swine fever in China may reduce demand for feed, along with forecasts for a record U.S. crop.

SINGAPORE (Aug 27): Palm oil still targets RM2,192, as it has broken a support at RM2,224 per tonne.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malay¬sian palm oil futures ended on Friday marginally higher, averting a third straight session of declines, supported by a technical correction and strength in US soyoil prices.

The EU’s biofuel policy was meant to help the climate. Instead it’s been linked to loss of rainforest because of its reliance on palm oil. New rules aim to phase out the oil but the problem runs deeper, say experts. DW’s Bob Berwyn reports.
